Where is your life going?
Do you know? Is
that where you want to go? If not, what are you going to
do about it? Look, there are all sorts of worn-out clichés we can use
here. If you aren't going anywhere in particular, any vehicle will
do, even
this one.
But here's the point, if you don't know where you are going, if you have no
destination, then life just happens to you. And if life just happens to you, you
are most likely not a happy person. Everyone I've
known who does not exercise control over their life is a decidedly unhappy
person. Simply put, Life is too long to go through it pissed off.
Lucky for you, you have a choice. You can choose to take control, and that's what life coaching is all about.
What is Life Coaching?
What do top successful executives, joyful homemakers, and Tiger Woods all
have in common? They all use a coach to help them live their dreams and to
be the best they can be.
Coaching is about helping you achieve
your agenda or goals. It's just that simple.
But if you want the definition straight from the International Coaching
Federation, here it is.
Professional coaches provide an ongoing partnership designed to help clients
produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives.
Coaches help people improve their performances and enhance the quality of their
lives.
Coaches are trained to listen, to observe, and to customize their
approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and
strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and
resourceful. The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills,
resources, and creativity that the client already has.
I think I
said all that. The Coaching Federation does use a lot more words though. So you
decide which definition resonates with you. I keep things simple.
Here are some of the things I can help you with.
 | Get clear about what you want or what you want to accomplish and set goals
to get there |
 | Remove hidden, personal, internal obstacles |
 | Improve relationships (personal or business) |
 | Solve problems |
 | Deal with the button-pushers in your life |
 | Find peace and joy in your life (Yes, it really is possible.) |
 | Discover your passion (Yes, you do have a passion and you probably are not
feeding it.) |
 | Find a balance between your work and the rest of your life |
 | Find More Life in your life |
Is Coaching for you?
Here's a simple nine-question test. Answer each question with a number
from 1 to 10. A 1 means you don't agree with the statement at all.
And a 10 means I've been reading your mind because you completely agree.
So, you decide what the numbers between 1 and 10 mean.
